Website Homepage

For my website homepage which I have to create, I have decided to use a template from an online web design page.
Some of the sites I could use are

Having looked at some of the templates the various sites offer, I decided I like the look of the website below in terms of a layout. Obviously, the colour scheme doesn't suit my particular requirements but this is something I will change first. For my background, I am thinking of going with maybe an image of crumpets, to link the site with the bands' debut parody single, 'Down With The Crumpets'.
I am looking to keep the idea the trio of iPhone images, incorporating images of the band with a link to iTunes in which people can purchase the tracks.
I like the idea of an image gallery scroll-bar mid way through the homepage for which people can get a further idea of the band and see images from video production and photo shoot.

 

Day 2 filming ideas

Having already completed the filming for the 3 verses in my video, it is now on to the task of filming the 3 choruses.
My initial idea was to have a group of people doing a 'funny dance' in order to add to the comical side of what is meant to be a humorous music video and not to be taken too seriously. When considering costumes, I originally just thought everyday clothing but then I had a brainwave of having people dress up in onesies or pyjamas to do the dances. I felt that this will add even more to the comedy value and will be a reflection of people first thing in a morning which is something I have tried to incorporate into my video as it is about crumpets and other breakfast items.

Preferably I would like to film in 3 different locations(a different one for each chorus). This was a troublesome task of where I could film doing silly dancing in onesies as it may be embarrassing for the people involved if I asked them to do it in a public place. I have therefore decided that one of the places I could film is the school canteen. This is a food based location to link with my lyrics and will spare the embarrassment of doing it in public with the whole world watching.

I am still looking for 2 other locations at this time to film the other 2 choruses.

My idea was to have 5 people doing the dances. With the 2 singers stood at the front closest to the camera with another 3 people spaced out in a row behind.

I am also considering for the camera to rotate in one direction whilst the dancers move the opposite circulating the camera. For example, the camera rotate clockwise whilst the dancers, dance around the camera in an anti-clockwise motion. I am going to film this version then see how it looks. If it doesn't look suitable I will stick with the original formation.

There were many things I had to use for my video. Day 1 filming completion

Yesterday I completed the first day of filming for my music video. I was very limited to time so I took my time in making sure I got all the shots I needed for my 3 verses of the song firstly that involved both of my actors. I will do all the close up of all the miscellaneous objects such as microwaves, toasters, frosties and toast etc afterwards when it is not a necessity to have my actors present. This will not play any role in any continuity errors as there are only inanimate objects that I need to get shots of.

Having completed the first day of filming, I believe I have all the shots I need of the actors for the 3 verses. I am planning on doing the 3 chorus' at a later date as I plan to use a different locations for each chorus. I will plan on doing the same thing in each one but with a different backdrop.

Filming my Video (Day 1)

I have arranged to start filming this Friday (1st February). I have asked all the actors to be at my house for 11:00am to start the filming.

Arranging costumes & props

Today, me and my friend Tom (who is starring in my video), went to town to buy all the things I need for my music video.

My initial plan was to have the 2 main actors wearing T-Shirts with crumpets on, if not at least some sort of item of food. I had this idea due to the fact my parody song revolves around crumpets and food in general.

Having looked for some items of clothing with food items on, I was unsuccessful so as a result, I decided that I would ask to see if any of my friends owned any T-Shirts with items of clothing on. One of my friends had one with donuts on, so I have acquired that for one of my actors to wear during the video shoot. As yet, I have not found another T-Shirt with food items on for the other main actor to wear.

As crumpets feature heavily in my video, I had to make sure I had a lot of these in my video. Therefore, I went to the supermarket to buy some and all the other food items that are mentioned within the lyrics of my video.

Not all of these I was required to buy as I already had some already. I had a problem when it came to the McDonalds and Starbucks. I wasn't quite sure how to incorporate them into my video. After some deliberation, I decided that I would go and purchase drinks from both stores and then have them on display in my video.

Arranging a date to film

I wanted to initially start filming before Christmas but due to the availability of the 'actors' who will be in my music video, this had to be delayed until the New Year. Another factor in the decision to delay the filming was the fact that as part of my music video is being shot in my own home and it was Christmas time, all the decorations etc were already in place. Therefore, it would mean I either had to remove everything from show or try and film parts of my video from angles where Christmas decorations wouldn't be on show.

I felt that this would be too much effort and relied upon me using alternative camera angles which may have caused the final result to not be as good of quality as if I simply put back my filming a month or so until after the festive period had passed.


Now we are in the New Year, I have started to arrange possible dates as to when I could do some filming. Due to my own and the people who I want to be in my video's schedule I have been very limited in the times I can do the filming. A Saturday morning would be ideal for most and the house would be free to do the filming freely without being interrupted by family members.

Alternatively, there is some time available for some of my actors and myself to film possibly on a Wednesday or Friday afternoon. Over the coming week, I am going to arrange some actual dates where everyone I will need for my video will be available.
